It is a 19th century folk tale about a young woman named Charlotte who froze to death on the way to a New Year’s ball, in an open sleigh with her beau, Charles. Her mother pleaded for her to dress warmly for the 20 mile ride, but Charlotte refused, because then no one would see her in her beautiful dress as she arrived. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These tiny 1 inch tall bisque dolls were made in Germany in the mid1800s, and resembled small white corpses, hence the name Frozen Charlotte.
This shadow box pendant has tiny mixed media embellishments inside, and has clear acrylic “glass” windows, which means it will scratch easier than actual glass. Please note that each piece has arrived from the supplier with minor scratches. Your Frozen Charlotte necklace is suspended from an 18 inch Stainless Steel chain.
