Sentimental Hand Holding Berries and a Rose Quartz Sterling Necklace
Mockingbird Lane Artistries
A replica of an 1856-1890’s brooch was created into a pendant using a process called electroform; depositing pure copper plating onto items using chemicals and electricity. The piece was then plated with sterling silver over top of the copper.
This piece is a resin cast, replicated by the Museum of the Very Strange. The original piece resides in their collection.
The hand of a lady is often seen in Victorian jewelry. Berries represent fruitful abundance. Forget-Me-Nots represent remembrance.
This piece was created as a collaboration with my friend Lori of Lomo Studio Designs. I prepared the pieces up until the plating process, and she did the copper plating. We then sent this piece to a larger company, to plate over the copper with a thick layer of sterling silver, because silver plating chemicals are dangerous to use at home.
This piece is hand polished, and lacquered to slow down the tarnishing process, and suspended from an 18 inch stainless steel chain.
Your necklace will be beautifully packaged so it is ready to give as a gift or to keep as a treasured adornment for yourself.
